Daily Qur'an & Hadith 15 April 2015 (25 Jamadi us`Sani 1436)

English Translation of Al-Quran

 [38].Surah Suad

Ayat 16. They (Pagans of Makkah) say: "Our Lord! Hasten to us Qittana (i.e. our Record of good and bad deeds so that we see it) before the Day of Reckoning!"

Tafseer of Surah Suad Ayat 16. They say: "Our Lord! Hasten to us our sentence (even) before the Day of Account!" Cf. 26:204. Those who do not believe in the Hereafter say ironically: "Let us have our punishment and sentence now: why delay it?" The last verse and the next verse supply the commentary. As to those who mock, they will find out the truth soon enough, when it is too late for repentance or mercy. As to the prophets of Allah, who are mocked, they must wait patiently for Allah to fulfil His Plan: even men who had worldly strength and power, like David, had to exercise infinite patience when mocked by their contemporaries.

English Translation of Hadith

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah [SAWW](PBUH) said,  "Allah does not look at your figures, nor at your attire but He looks at your hearts and accomplishments".

[Muslim Book 32, Chapter 08, Hadith # 6221].

Lesson: This Hadith highlights the importance of sincerity and good intention. It is, therefore, essential that every noble action should be based on these two virtues; and heart should be free from all such things that destroy noble deeds. Hypocrisy, ostentation, greed for wealth, riches and other worldly things fall in the category of such evils. Since the true condition of heart is known to Allah alone, the true position of one's actions will be known on the Day of Resurrection when one will be required for them by Allah. In this world, one will be treated according to his apparent condition while his insight will be left to Allah.
