[37].Surah As-Saffat (Those Ranged in Ranks)
Ayat 79. Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Allah) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinn's and all that exists)!"
Ayat 80. Verily, thus Allah reward the Muhsinun (good-doers).
Ayat 81. Verily, he [Nuh PBUH (Noah)] was one of Allah's believing servants.
Ayat 82. Then Allah drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.).
Tafseer of Surah As-Saffat (Those Ranged in Ranks) Ayat 79. "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" The story of the Flood is found in some form or other among all nations, and not only among those who follow the Mosaic tradition. In Greek tradition the hero of the flood is Deucalion, with his wife Pyrrhus; in Hindu tradition (Shatapatha Brahmana and Mahabharata) it is the sage Manuand the Fish. The Chinese tradition of a great Flood is recorded in Shu-King. Among American Indians the tradition was common to many tribes. Ayat 80. Thus indeed do we reward those who do right? Ayat 81. For he was one of our believing Servants. 82. Then the rest we overwhelmed in the Flood.
English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is, the world will not come to an end until a man passes by a grave and will lie over it saying, `Would that I were in this grave (i.e., dead)!' Not he will say so because of religious reasons but because of widespread mischief and severe trials of this world.''
[Al-Bukhari Book 09, Chapter 88, Hadith # 231]
Lesson: as mentioned above in Surah As-Saffat Ayat 80. Verily, thus Allah reward the Muhsinun (good-doers)" There would be such disasters and agony in the world that people will prefer death to life under such conditions. This situation will arise before the Day of Resurrection, and the Day of Judgment will dawn on such wicked people.
